Mercy Kipenda is pursuing an M.S degree in Natural Resource Sciences with a specialization in adaptive management under the advising of Dr. Daniel Uden. Her research focuses on the feasibility of early warning signals for harmful algae blooms in Nebraska lakes– which is supported by the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute. Mercy’s research interests include resilience, water quality and public health. Before arriving at UNL, she received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering from Copperbelt University, Kitwe, Zambia.
